Witches, super heroes and more made a difference this Halloween as Community First employees volunteered at local Halloween events.
“It’s always fun to see all the kids excited and dressed up,” said Tennelle Davis, a teller at our South Park branch in Oshkosh. Davis and eight other Community First Oshkosh staff greeted more than 1,110 visitors at ZooloweenBoo at Menomonee Park. “It was really busy and the kids all love coming to the zoo to trick-or-treat. It was a lot of fun, and a beautiful day.”
“It is a great, positive community event,” added Sharon Christie, South Park branch manager, “Members like to see us out in the community.”
Whether it’s helping at ZooloweenBoo or sponsoring the Youth Go haunted house in Neenah, Community First employees are proud and happy to be involved in the communities where they live and work in Northeast Wisconsin.
At Community First, our community engagement begins with the fundamental belief that as a member-owned financial cooperative we want to go beyond providing financial services. We live and breathe the credit union philosophy of people-helping-people and have a long history of providing our time and resources in ways that help promote financial literacy, social well-being and improve the quality of life throughout the region.
Community First’s One Menasha Branch staff shared treats with more than 800 visitors during the first 90 minutes of the Hometown Halloween in downtown Menasha.
“Being a part of the historic downtown Menasha community, it is very important to be involved in great family events like Hometown Halloween to show that Community First lives up to our name,” said Community First’s Michele Lynn, branch manager at One Menasha. “The weather really cooperated and all the tiny tot ghosts and goblins were out in full force. We saw many members come thru our doors, but also people that have never been in our beautiful building.”
In all, Community First volunteers stepped up to help make a difference at five events this month:
- Romp in the Autumn Swamp-Bubolz Nature Preserve (Oct. 19)
- ZooloweenBoo-Oshkosh (Oct. 20)
- Youth Go Haunted House-Neenah (October weekends)
- Hometown Halloween-Downtown Menasha (Oct. 24)
- Halloween at the Y-Greater Green Bay YMCA/Bellevue (Oct. 26)
